Rick's UFO Picks - Featured on the UFO-Files Report Show and UFO Magazine

Rick Appears on the UFO Files Report show - That is correct! I did indeed appear on the great UFO Files Report show, June 10th 2007, in place of the ultra busy and super talented Jerry Pippin. Pyramidal Craft Spotted at Close Range

A few years ago I had a friend I used to work with that we called Wild Bill as a nickname. I brought up the subject of UFOs in a conversation. To my complete surprise, Bill recounted an experience he had while walking home one evening.

The year was approximately 1972 or 1973 in the late fall. One weekday evening about 7:00 PM Bill was walking home along a sidewalk in a residential area of Lynnwood Washington, when he began to notice a soft whining sound from behind him. He turned and looked around behind him to see what it might be, when he spotted a small pyramid shaped object approaching him at no more than 25 feet in altitude. 

The speed of this object was approximately twice the speed of a human walking, which puts it at somewhere around 6 to 10 miles per hour, or 10 to 15 kilometers per hour.

The object looked to be about 4 to 6 feet on each side and was black in color. At the time we were discussing Bill’s sighting, Bill drew a pretty good sketch of this object, which was black in color. He said it had faint light emanating from the seams of the object, with the points of the object being the brightest area.

Bill explained to me, and while examining the sketch Bill drew for me, it appeared to be triangular in appearance rather than pyramidal. What I mean by this is that a pyramid is made up of five sides: A square bottom and four triangular sides. The object Bill witnessed appeared to have 4 sides, a triangular bottom and all sides triangular in shape.

To continue, Bill saw the object approaching him from his rear and along the opposite side of the street he was walking along. When the object got along side of where Bill was it hesitated and stopped to hover Bill estimates about 10 seconds, the continued on it’s original trajectory until it disappeared ahead in the dark.

Needless to say, Bill said he was probably as scared as he had ever been at any time in his entire life. I asked him if he had noticed any missing time, he responded by saying he had not.

Circular Hovering Object Departs, Bursting to Incredible Speed

In December, 1969, four of us, three 18 year old college students and one professional, were traveling south on Interstate 75, returning home after a University of Kentucky basketball game. At the time we were south of Richmond, but north of Berea.

All four of us saw an object overhead, directly in front of us, with an apparent altitude of a few hundred feet. The size cannot be estimated because the actual altitude could not be determined, since there were no clouds or hills, mountains, etc., behind the object in which an estimate could be made.

The object was round (i.e. a circle shape), and glowing with a white color, giving an appearance similar to that of a florescent light. At that time, so far as I was aware, fluorescent lights were only tube shaped, whether straight, or sometimes bent into a circle. I am referring only to the type of light produced by the object.

The object had an apparent size larger than a full moon, and the brightness was similar to that of a full moon on a clear night. However, it was definitely NOT the moon. The object was hovering, moving very slowly from east to west. As we watched, the object suddenly accelerated to a speed far faster than it would seem would be possible within the laws of physics, and moved beyond the western horizon so quickly that it was virtually instantaneous. At the point of the sighting, we were going down a long slope on the interstate, and the terrain was such that there was a very wide, unobstructed view toward the western horizon, of several miles.

"Accelerated" is actually not the correct word, because "acceleration" implies that the speed increased from a slow speed to a faster speed through a process of going faster and faster. To the contrary, the object appeared to have NO TRANSITION from the slow east to west hover to a speed which covered miles from our location to the western horizon in, perhaps, a hundredth of a second.

The four of us agreed that we would not report the incident because of the ridicule that we would probably suffer. All three of the observers who were students at the time are now professionals: an accountant, a pharmacist, and an attorney.

I also spoke a little bit about the very first "Rick's Pick" that Larry and Jerry reported on the UFO Files Report Show way back when,  03-25-06.

I recently did a Google Maps search of the sighting area of the Ethell Washington Sighting reported in the UFO Files Report Show of March 25th, 2006, when I discovered that you can actually see the area where the witness had been riding go-carts after school that day at his friend's house prior to his father picking him up and subsequently experiencing the UFO while enroot to his house. You can view the oval area where they riding their go-carts here. Below is the Ethell Washington report we were discussing in it's entirety.

I recently was discussing a UFO encounter with a friend of mine, as he has significant interests and participates in research on the subject, and he suggested getting online and looking for websites, (such as this one) that had listings and reports by state, region, shape, etc. I was looking thru the Washington state region, around the mid to early 1980's, to see if anyone else had ever seen what I am going to describe. To my great surprise, and genuine startled sensation, a person in Rochester, (which is not too far from where my stepfather and I originally saw this UFO, in Ethel, WA) described a very similar shaped craft and an unusual time disorientation feeling both my stepfather and I had experienced after the craft departed. For whoever wrote about the V shaped craft, I want you to know, you are not alone in seeing this. Both my Stepfather and I saw it, and we saw it within very close proximity and in broad daylight.

Here is my account of the incident: My stepfather was picking me up from a friend's house at the top of the Hill on an old country road called Larmon road about 1 mile east from where the road meets into Hwy 12. I remember I had rode the school bus up to my friend's house that day to go play on his go-cart, as it meant I wouldn't have to try and ride my bike up that incredibly steep hill. We had left my friend's house and we were driving East back towards the hill, That is when my stepfather turned to me in the passenger seat and said quite casually, "Look, a UFO." My reply was "yeah, right", until I looked past him and out the driver's car door window, then I actually saw it.

My stepfather slowed down the car as we saw looked in disbelief and eventually came to a stop there on the road. There it was, this huge upside down "V" shaped, silver metallic craft. It was hovering no more than 15 feet above the grass, in an empty cow pasture, right off to the left of the road. I remember just sitting there in the front seat, looking at it, in total disbelief, as to what we were both seeing.

It was there, in a field belonging to my friend's grandparents facing North of the road. It cast a giant shadow on the ground, but I remember it looking as if it were just hanging there in the air, it was impossible for our eyes to comprehend, as it defied gravity, just hanging there. The top of the "V" was facing towards the sky. And in the center, I remember a circular domed area, and what looked like domed windows. It was not a plane, as there was no noise, and this craft was a lot larger than a regular plane, or even a jumbo jet, it was very big.

The house of my friend's grandparent's was just to the right of where it hovered, and it made the house look like a shed in comparison. We were probably no more than 150 ft from where it hovered above the pasture. I remember seeing the grass below it reflecting on the tips of both sides of the V. It had lights, green, red, and blue. I remember seeing the green light the most coming from the centermost point of the craft, where I had believed to have seen windows on the craft.

The light got intensely bright, and after that, I remember being suddenly startled and then suddenly looking out the window of my passenger window, as if something was there, I for a moment thought there was something there. It was at this time that time seems to have skipped on us. We both felt as if some serious time had passed since first encountering the craft, that we had something like a time hiccup is the best I can describe the sensation. Like we hiccupped and we moved ahead in time, like we had been gone for hours, but somehow equated out to no time loss at all.

I have no idea if we were abducted, as I have no memory past looking out my passenger door window, I just remember being very startled and was compelled to look away from the light. After I saw there wasn't anyone there, I looked back at the craft, and it was gone. Suddenly there was a noise, a very loud thunder cracking sonic boom type of noise, but when we got out of the car to see if it had made the noise, there was nothing visible in the sky. For a good five minutes, we sat on that road looking at a craft that was in no way shape or form anything I have seen before or since. It was huge, and it made no noise.

We proceeded down the hill towards home and went back into the house. When we got into the house, my mother asked quite sternly where we both had been, and we both said we just came straight down the hill. She said that it had been well over an hour when my stepfather had gone up the hill to pick me up. We lived no more than 2 miles from my friend's house.

We never reported it, but not long after that incident, My stepfather somehow developed a very serious and debilitating brain tumor and died three years later. The effects of the tumor started just a few days after we saw that craft. I do not know if this was somehow connected, but it did appear very strange when the right side of his body went dead and he started having seizures not long after our encounter.

So, to whoever saw this same shaped craft, you are not alone, My stepfather and I saw it as well. And I believe something else might have happened to us. Although I have always been very healthy, I have the feeling that something else occurred that day. For whoever wrote their encounter regarding the craft in Rochester back in 1979 - 1980, I hope that these people will share my contact info with you. It is because of what you wrote that compelled me to share my experience.
